And maybe give an example of where we might have seen them at work. Here's mine:
Any fleshy, middle-aged white guy who serves as a mentor/instructor/boss to the hero will eventually turn out to be working for the bad guys.
I was watching "Exit Wounds" at the gym, and at one point Steven Segal turns to the fleshy, middle-aged white police chief and says something like "Frank, you've been on the force as long as I can remember..." And I pretty much knew what was going to happen next.
And I feel sorry for those characters. Of COURSE they become bitter and start working for the bad guys, because they can't ever leave the force. If they tried, they'd obviously be gunned down by the bad guys one week before their retirement. DAMN YOU, CARDOZAAAAAAAAA!!!
