Can I get a shout out tonight for myself and the wife - 9 years ago today
She took a taxi cab from Bakersfield, CA to my place in Tehachapi (both our cars were broke down at the time).

She never left. Our first night together.

9 years of life together, now a daughter, lots of neat places we have been together, we have lived in many places since then...and it just goes on.

We started out together living in a small garage behind some idiot's house. I had no furniture except a table and a chair. We slept on the floor. Roaches from the dog food outside would wander in - and my wife would save them and toss them outside. She was a crazy tree hugging hippie then, and still is.

9 Years later, we have our own garage - and no, no one lives in it :) She has Parkinson's disease and her once lively wild self has slowed down a lot. Dreams were shattered - new ones forged.

She stuck by me in the worst years of my life, when it all went to hell. And I stand by her now during this.

I found a new life, a new love, 9 years ago this day. Nothing has pried us apart.

I celebrate tonight that we have overcome. That we have stuck with one another through it all.

And so we make new dreams. The ones 9 years ago did come about - we made a life together and created a new one to share it with us. So we are older now, so we went through hell - we did as a couple. We overcame all the things we have suffered through.

9 years ago I found my dream. I can die a happy man knowing that in this life I found that someone special.

It was worth the ride baby. We went through the black hole and came out into the light - and you held my hand all the way through.

Now my best friend, let me hold yours.
