I hate having to fast before a doctor appointment. Any other time my body would be like, "Oh, well, you aren't really hungry anyway." but something about having to fast before an appointment starts this cascade of "Feed me! Feed me!" from the center of my being.

2. Clear liquids.....whatever the hell that means. |

Does that mean I have a Sprite or 7-up? I think though since I having my lipid panel done, it means good old fashioned water.
Oh well, only an hour or so to go before the tests.

before the gastroentologist.
Nothing solid after breakfast the day before. Nothing at all the night before except that gallon of pineapple poison to clean you out.
OK, hungry, but it will all be over soon the next morning, eh?
Get to the hospital, and right by the front door is the fresh donut and coffee cart.
FREE donuts and coffee!

5. Oh, yeah. I went through that "pleasant" experience a couple of months ago |
|
The day before the colonoscopy, it was nothing but juice and soup broth. And then the night before...on the toilet MANY times.
And then after the colonoscopy, some cookies and coffee, followed by a HUGE breakfast after I got home.

you can't eat, i.e., when you go on a diet. It's like you never want something until someone tells you you can't have it.
Never, ever let some doctor schedule an elective surgery late in the afternoon. They tell you nothing after midnight, then make you wait all day 12 or 14 hours without food. Tell them you want your surgery at 7 or 8 a.m.
