1. Well, see, you're only like 300 miles from Milwaukee |
|
You should've gone to the game.
What, you think teevee's free or somethin'?
(Actually, I think this is an MLB rule, not Faux being Faux.)

2. Fox Sports chomps it big time |

I'd rather NOT have Fox carry the Red Sox on the game of the week. I'd rather stick with Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy on NESN (New England Sports Network, the cable station that carries the Sox and Bruins). Fox is in the tank with the Ballclub That Shall Not Be Named, and I get an ulcer listening to sycophants like Tim McCarver.
McCarver still holds a grudge against the Sox because they cut him about a month into the 1975 season. Frankly, I can muster no sympathy for a guy who got beat out by the likes of Bob Montgomery...

3. Yeah, but the Red Sox won. |
|
11-2, I believe. Good show (and I HATE televised sports, but I watched a good chunk of this).

Does MLB have a blackout rule? I know there's one in the NFL. Rox vs Nats doesn't strike me as a game that would sell out either at Coors or RFK.

7. Hm. We're 6.5 games back |
|
from the leader and tomorrow and the rest of the week, back to battling NL West, starting with de Padres (who'll lose and be swept) then L.A. to claim the top spot for NL West.

Fox shows two nationally broadcast games each Sunday. Two.
One predominantly for west coast/western US viewers, and one for the east.
It's not to slam local fans or the like. It's no different than ESPN's national broadcasts, except it divides it into two - one for each half of the country.

6. I think blackout rules are so ridiculous. |
|
If people want to go to a game, they're going to go. Whether or not it's televised isn't going to make a difference - especially in places that don't sell out anyway.
