Politically Incorrect song lyrics...
Whether from an era of "pre-enlightenment" (ignorance) or a bad sense of humor, these 2 songs top my list of "I can't believe I actually listened to/liked these".
Please add yours...

Wives And Lovers
(Burt Bacharach/ Hal David)

Hey! Little Girl
Comb your hair, fix your makeup
Soon he will open the door
Don't think because there's a ring on your finger
You needn't try anymore

For wives should always be lovers too
Run to his arms the moment he comes home to you
I'm warning you...

Day after day
There are girls at the office
And men will always be men
Don't send him off with your hair still in curlers
You may not see him again

Ahab The Arab

Let me tell you about Ahab the Arab
The sheik of the burning sand
He had emeralds and rubies just drippin' off 'a him
And a ring on every finger of his hand
He wore a big ol' turban wrapped around his head
And a scimitar by his side
And, every evenin', about midnight
He'd jump on his camel named Clyde, and ride

Well, he brought that camel to a screechin' halt (verbal screeching sound)
In the rear of Fatima's tent
Jumped off Clyde, snuck around the corner
And into the tent he went.
There he saw Fatima layin' on a zebra skin rug
With
"Rings on her fingers and
bells on her toes and a bone in her nose ho, ho."

4. My classic rock station WZLX
plays an edited version of Money for Nothing with that section cut out.

I'm gay but I'm not offended by it. I'm actually offended they took it out.

11. There's this thing called "context"...
The "faggot" lines were being spoken from the point of view of the loser stuck in his dead-end job of appliance-delivery.

20. I've heard some stations
run 'Play That Funky Music' and edit out the White Boy comment. That always irked me. If they're gonna play it at all, they should play it as the artist intended. Cutting stuff out is often more offensive, and besides that, draws even more attention to whatever is perceived to be the offensive language of the song.

6. Try these on for size
Jimmy Soul---If You Wanna Be Happy

If you wanna be happy
For the rest of your life,
Never make a pretty woman your wife,
So from my personal point of view,
Get an ugly girl to marry you.

A pretty woman makes her husband look small
And very often causes his downfall.
As soon as he marries her
Then she starts to do
The things that will break his heart.
But if you make an ugly woman your wife,
You'll be happy for the rest of your life,
An ugly woman cooks her meals on time,
She'll always give you peace of mind.

Don't let your friends say
You have no taste,
Go ahead and marry anyway,
Though her face is ugly,
Her eyes don't match,
Take it from me she's a better catch.

Say man.
Hey baby.
Saw your wife the other day.
Yeah?
Yeah, she's ugly.
Yeah, she's ugly but she sure can cook.
Yeah?. Okay.

7. I almost forgot this Rolling Stones hit...
I think it was the flip side of Paint It Black...

STUPID GIRL

I'm not talking about the kind of clothes she wears
Look at that stupid girl
I'm not talking about the way she combs her hair
Look at that stupid girl

The way she powders her nose
Her vanity shows and it shows
She's the worst thing in this world
Well, look at that stupid girl

I'm not talking about the way she digs for gold
Look at that stupid girl
Well, I'm talking about the way she grabs and holds
Look at that stupid girl

The way she talks about someone else
That she don't even know herself
She's the sickest thing in this world
Well, look at that stupid girl

17. I had a problem with that one
Finally I figured out what he really meant:

"Dreams about that special one
They may be stupid but they sure are fun."

The point is that it's not the woman that's stupid, it's the dreams, at least until such time as the woman shows up.

Note that this was the guy who also wrote the song "Lysistrata," about a woman who was distinctly smarter than any of the men around.

14. Marianne Burns
OK, you asked.

Marianne Burns is the queen of all the astrojets.
She can do tricks that will give a guy the shits.
She can roll a jellybean down her fundamental orifice,
Do a double somersault and catch it on her tits.

She's a great big sonuvabitch, twice as big as me.
Got hair on her arms like branches on a tree.
She can swim, fish, fight, fuck,
Roll a barrel, drive a truck.
Marianne Burns is gonna marry meeeee!

Just one of my old squadron songs.
We were baaaaad.

That one is so bad, I would get kicked off DU for reprinting the lyrics. Axl Rose "aplogized" for offending anyone in the liner notes.

19. Waitress in the Sky (Replacements)
She don't wear no pants and she don't wear no tie
Always on the ball, she's always on strike
Struttin' up the aisle, big deal, you get to fly
You ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky
You ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky

Paid my fare, don't wanna complain
You get to me, you're always outta champagne
Treat me like a bum, don't wear no tie
'cause you ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky
You ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky

And the sign says, "Thank you very much for not smoking"
My own sign says, "I'm sorry, I'm smokin'"
Don't treat me special, don't kiss my ass
Treat me like the way they treat 'em up in first class

Sanitation expert and a maintenance engineer
Garbage man, a janitor and you my dear
A real union flight attendant, my oh my
You ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky
You ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky
You ain't nothin' but a waitress in the sky

21. National Brotherhood Week by Tom Lehrer
Of course, it is a political satire... Which Tom said was dead when they gave Kissenger a Nobel Peace Prize... But still

(From the album, "That was the Year that was"

One week of every year is designated National Brotherhood Week. This is just one of many such weeks honoring various worthy causes. One of my favorites is National Make-fun-of-the-handicapped Week which Frank Fontaine and Jerry Lewis are in charge of as you know. During National Brotherhood Week various special events are arranged to drive home the message of brotherhood. This year, for example, on the first day of the week Malcolm X was killed which gives you an idea of how effective the whole thing is. I'm sure we all agree that we ought to love one another and I know there are people in the world that do not love their fellow human beings and I hate people like that. Here's a song about National Brotherhood Week.

Oh, the white folks hate the black folks,
And the black folks hate the white folks.
To hate all but the right folks
Is an old established rule.

But during National Brotherhood Week, National Brotherhood Week,
Lena Horne and Sheriff Clarke are dancing cheek to cheek.
It's fun to eulogize
The people you despise,
As long as you don't let 'em in your school.

Oh, the poor folks hate the rich folks,
And the rich folks hate the poor folks.
All of my folks hate all of your folks,
It's American as apple pie.

But during National Brotherhood Week, National Brotherhood Week,
New Yorkers love the Puerto Ricans 'cause it's very chic.
Step up and shake the hand
Of someone you can't stand.
You can tolerate him if you try.

Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics,
And the Catholics hate the Protestants,
And the Hindus hate the Moslems,
And everybody hates the Jews.

But during National Brotherhood Week, National Brotherhood Week,
It's National Everyone-smile-at-one-another-hood Week.
Be nice to people who
Are inferior to you.
It's only for a week, so have no fear.
Be grateful that it doesn't last all year!

24. Doublewide Blues
Doublewide blues
I got the blues
doublewide

V neck t-shrit with a mustard stain
rolling up a hose outside in the rain
he's been my neighbor since '79
course he was in prison most of that time

Every since then, he just ain't been right
his old lady works days and they fight most night
laid off and blown off, pissed off on booze
doublewide blues

Metallica song blasting out from two trailers down
it's them cut-off t-shirt and nunchucks kids coming round
tonight they'll get drunk, try to get laid
end up in a fight, out behind the arcade

You know one of them little shits broke my window last spring
I told his momma, she didn't do anything
she works two jobs, he runs loose
doublewide blues

My buddy Jimmy, now his trailer's cool
He got him a deck with one them blue plastic pools
He works construction, build speck homes
His old lady left him, now he's down there alone

My friend Anita, she loves him, but he don't know
He's too busy chasing my neighbor's wife, Flo
Soap opera heaven, without all the clues
doublewide blues

Wild Bill the manager, he keeps to himself
The war took his smile, like them pills took his health
Too old to run with the klan anymore
U.S. flag hanging up outside of his door

I sit here watching all this, nothing going on
I don't get out much, since momma's been gone
Sometimes it's nice, having nothing to lose
doublewide blues

Take me home boys, I think I'm drunk
