Greetings from Belgium!
I got to Belgium on Saturday evening (early Saturday morning California time) and we´ve been having a great time!

Yesterday, we went to Gentse Feesten (Gent Festival) and I learned how to dance, ate REAL frieten (french fries) Omg, we are being cheated. US fries SUCK. And then, we joined what must have been the entire city, at the canal for a free Gabriel Rios concert. I`ve never heard of him before, but he`s quite good.

No pictures yet, but I promise many upon my return!

1. Definitely try the beer!
Im sure you probably have. Begian beer is to American beer what Belgian french fries are to the American version.

5. good choice
the Belgians have some of the best fruit beers in the world.

some other great stuff to try:

Wit - a "white" or cloudy beer. Very light, usually flavored with lemon and coriander.

Framboise - raspberry beer.
cassis - black currant
peche - peach

Actually, you cant go wrong with any Belgian beers. Try them all.

I was in Switzerland on Saturday, for all of an hour--at the Zurich airport. Lovely country you have there! (well, what I saw from the plane, anyway) ;)

15. from where?
Are you trying to win an award for the most gratuitous use of the word 'Belgium'?

Why do you hate freedom (fries)?

Congrats on your trip. Bring home some Euros. They'll probably get more valuable in the next year.

16. I...err...
only said "Belgium" twice. I dunno how gratuitous that is.

I do, indeed, hate our freedom (fries). Well, maybe not hate, but they`re certainly overrated.

Euros are already plenty valuable, but you have a point there, lol. Though I think I`d be even better off bringing home British pounds. 2 to 1! OUCH!
