Why does my throat get tingly after eating honeydew or cantaloupes?
Would that be a symptom of a mild allergic reaction?

2. Sounds like it could be.
Might want to see a doctor about it before you eat another one.

3. Could be.
In fact, I'd say it's likely. My oldest and youngest are allergic to bananas and that sounds like a mild version of their reaction.

4. Yes, that is an allergic reaction...
I have the same thing for cantelope -- I have read that people who are allergic to ragweed can develop an allergy to catelope because they are related.

I could eat cantelope just fine until I developed hay fever to ragweed when I was 18.

You have to be very careful with that kind of allergic response because you can develope throat swelling and have breathing problems -- I don't eat melon anymore because of it. :(

I've never noticed the same sensation with strawberries.

7. yes. I can't eat cantaloupe at all. Honeydew OK, but not great
watermelon no problems whatsoever. Try some different ones (but keep some benadryl handy).

My lips used to swell, too, though unevenly. Looked lovely.
