6. does whatever a spider pig does! |
|
I can't stand the tv show, but the commercials for the movie had a different sense of humor. Went to see the movie yesterday.
It wasn't great, but not awful either. I hope that doesn't mean I'm turning into a film critic!

7. I just got back from seeing it... |
|
I feel the need to watch it again because I *know* I missed a lot of jokes on the first viewing. As a fan from the shows beginning...it didn't disappoint

15. It was just a big-screen extended-version of the TV show... |
|
Which means that it was big-screen, extended-version hilarious.
What kind of idiot pays for something he could get on TV for free? I do. I'll buy the friggin' DVD when it comes out.
Worth every inflated dollar that I paid to see it. And that goes for my kids' tickets, too!

17. A summary of the two categories of critique I've read/heard so far: |
|
1. "It was stupid. Homer being silly for silliness' sake, Bart making rude comments, and incessant pop culture references. If you're not a fan of the show, you won't like the movie."
and
2. "It was great! Homer being silly for silliness' sake, Bart making rude comments, and incessant pop culture references. If you're a fan of the show, you'll love the movie."
Number me among that second category. I can't believe that some critics actually approached the film as if it were primarily an effort to recruit new viewers for the series.
