Ants!! F***ing carpenter ants!
I've gone through this every summer since I got back to New England. But this year there must be uranium in the water or something, because these goddamned ants are at least 3/4" in length. I've tried ant baits, and as soon as it gets a little cooler (when I can put me and the kits in the backyard) I'm bombing the place. There is nothing quite like having a large black ant crawling up your leg when you're trying to keep cool and relaxed. And since I have a phobia about the fuckers to start with, it really isn't helping my mental health.

in the back yard, then when you bomb the place, you and the kits will have a comfy place to hang out while the bomb stuff does what it does.

:hi:

4. Vaseline around door and window frames - no more ants! Probably needs to be done yearly.

6. mmm bet that works good for catching dust bunnies too!
 My experience with carpenter ants is you can't tell where they come from or where they hide - they run around like crazy and just sort of disappear - I have a theory that they are some kind of magical space beings that can materialize at will in your kitchen.

5. except when it gets cooler they will be gone!
no need to toxify your home:rofl:

I have them too - nothing seems to work. I take consolation that at least they aren't cockroaches or piss ants - both of those are disgusting and stink. Carpenter ants just sort of run around and don't seem to harm anything. Although I am sure they must be destroying some hidden part of my house, they don't bother me near as much as some other critters. (we had skunks in the house this year)

9. Try Amdro ant killer.
It's sold at Ace, Home Depot, places like that. It kills the colony.

I can't stand ants. The type found around my house are small but the little bastards bite me all the time. So I nuke their nests!
