i bought some $4.99 Riesling from Trader Joe's yesterday.

i am about to go uncork it and give it a taste. I'm not much of a wine drinker or know abouter but i do enjoy some riesling.

it's not terrible but it's very dry, taste more like regular white wine.

I actually think they showcase the grape's natural aromatics much better than the semi-drys out there (and they're usually more expensive, too).

Navarro makes such great, great wine, but because they're off the beaten wine country path, they keep their prices incredibly low. Their Edelzwicker, dry gewurtz and dry muscat are all outstanding, too. They do my very, very favorite whites.

30. They are very, very good...and they are off the beaten path...

...sort of a "go up 101 and hang a left at Cloverdale" kind of thing. They also have some excellent non-alcoholic "wines" which work really, really well as accompaniments to desserts...and their verjuis is great for cooking.

Nice to know you have been up in our neck of the woods, Shakespeare. :hi: We go by Navarro Vineyards quite often on our way to Hendy Woods, or over to Mendocino.

Next time you are in Mendocino try The Moose Cafe; great food and they serve Navarro wines. :D

I'm drinking a great Fuiuli 2004 Pinot Grigio right now. Usually I don't drink white wine at all, but I was craving something cool and crisp this evening.

14. I had some nasty Riesling

I like sweet Riesling but my cheap ass friend didn't wanna pay more than five bucks for a bottle so we ended up w/ this nasty, dry Australian Riesling. I really dislike dry wines so I really didn't like it. Granted, we drank the whole bottle, but still.

19. If you like sweetish reislings, you might like

a box of Franzia Rhine. It's a box, so it has the bladder thingie that holds the wine that keeps it from oxygenating, so you can have a glass when you want. Keep in the 'fridge, get a chilled glass whenever.
