If I don't post ever again after a few days you'll know why.
Edited on Sun Aug-12-07 10:53 AM by originalpckelly
Um, I just told someone I've known for half of my life that I loved them, and uh, that I have loved for close to that amount of time.

So if I die of embarrassment or rejection, then you'll know what happened to me.

I love you all too, just not that way.

I guess it's kind of true love, because I mean it's been a long time. Damn shit wouldn't go away like an incurable disease.

Oh God, let's just see how this goes.

:scared:

If it works out, it'll be a super romantic story, if not then I'll be the next case on the docket in Denver, CO. (That's a joke, God I hope.)

I can't believe I just did that, and not even on the phone or in person, through this weird message system on facebook.

4. Thanks...
I'm hoping I don't get that, but I'm not nuts or anything so I don't really expect the best possibility.

14. If I were you I woudn't expect anything ... expectations can only lead to disappointment
If I were you I would release yourself from it as much as possible. Detach emotionally from the whole thing. I know that seems difficult or impossible because it's been going on so long. But it's dangerous to put "all your eggs in the basket" of just one relationship. If I were you I would try to reduce the significance of this in your life as much as possible, so that it's just like a little wave lapping against the side of the boat and not a tsunami. Lower the volume of this one and raise the volume of other things in your life. Just my opinion - what you do is of course up to you.

Life is a risk, we all take risks everyday, even in pedestrian or sheltered existences...
there is risk, we just don't know about it.

It's kind of a win win, I'm already in pain not telling her for so long, and on the other hand if she responds in a way that's hopeful, then of course that's better.

20. Naw, it's OK.
I mean I've learned to live with it and everything, but I just couldn't risk something happening to me and me not telling her. (Sort of a morbid thought, but hey, whatever.)

9. I really, truly hope
that it all works out the way you want it to and that you live happily ever after. And just remember, even if it doesn't (there's nothing in the world scarier, is there?), you have us.

Maybe not in 'that' way, but we have broad shoulders and sympathetic hearts.

My fingers are crossed for you.
Just remember if this person is a friend they will understand.
It may feel weird for a while around them depending on how the other feels.
If anything you could still be friends.

I have a feeling she doesn't check her e-mail much from our conversations lately, so I'm going to have to wait at least until tomorrow if not a couple of days after that.

27. You are lucky to love even if it goes all wrong.
Keep saying that to yourself. It's a mantra I've had to learn, for the only people I've "loved"--and not even in a sexual/romantic love; I've never felt that!--have never concretely returned the affection. I just tell myself that those people have given me joy, even if they didn't want to/mean to. It appeals to my natural perversity. :D

Or is that supposed to be the sea? Why the sea? I don't even know how to fish at sea or drive (captain?) a boat.

29. oh. wow. this is like my uncle meeting his high school sweet heart
at their 40th reunion. They were both now single, and spent the whole weekend just talking and talking and talking my mom & her brother & his wife (the single uncle is their step brother) came home from the party and told me they were taking bets on when they would get married.

They did, about 8 months later, and are still married. This was 1985, by the way.

So I hope yours comes out like theirs did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

31. I just took a wild risk, and I don't think it's going to work out like that.
It's OK if it doesn't, I already hurt anyway, so it's not like I'm going to start hurting if she acts all weird and everything. It was kind of like a situation where I can't do any worse than now, so I might as well take the risk.

Plus, something might happen to me and I might not get to tell her.

Even if she doesn't feel the same way, at least she can feel happy that someone loves her if she ever gets lonely or something.
