Name some stores closing in your area!
Big box:
CompUSA
Wickes

Smaller or mom&pop firms:

Bicycle store
Sports gear store
2 auto repair shops
1 marina
tavern
2 antique stores
ice cream shoppe

And on the verge of closing due to all those massive % discounts?

Carpet store

Things people are selling:
A couple SUVs
NUMEROUS boats w/trailers
MORE numerous Houses

And count the number of "for lease" buildings; particularly in areas of heavy commercial development.

I can think of 18, in 4 strip mall areas, 2 of those locations being newly built, off the top of my head.

How about your area?

3. There's a Party America closing over by where I work...
Very sudden. I was just there on the 3rd. No signage about the store closing. Now the large Party America sign is gone, and the windows are plastered with signs saying they're closing. How weird is that?

4. They're all opening.
The local town is getting a significant redevelopment (long over-due) so the shops are moving in rather than closing.
