Now I'll grant you, boot-licking has a certain psychological satisfaction, but to get those boots to a really lustrous color, you really need a high-quality compound of lanolin and Carnauba wax.

I'll have to go with polish- too much salt in saliva. It might erode the boot material, and what a travesty THAT would be!
