What's your favorite kind of cake? |
|
Wifey and I are having an argument about what kind of cake most people like. Do you like german chocolate cake, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, yellow cake with chocolate icing, chocolate cake with chocolate icing ... what cake would you like for your birthday?

3. German Chocolate cake was my fave for my birthday, |
|
and it was a traditional Christmas cake in our home. Chocolate cake of any type that is dense moist and homemade, not a mix.
I also love fresh coconut cake with pineapple in between the layers.
I make a very mean homemade cake, and I love to bake them.

I like cake. I'm not going to discriminate!
Okay, if pushed, I will say I don't believe desserts should be made from veggies, so carrot cake for me is right out. Anything else cake-ish is on the table. Until I eat it. Then it's off the table and in my gullet. :hi:

No icing or frosting, just plain cake. It's as good right out of the oven on a winter day as it is the next day cold. My wife has to hide it from me, saying women are grazers, men are gorgers. In my case, she is correct. Mmmmm ginger cake

My son asked for marble cake for his birthday, so I made one out of the original Betty Crocker Picture Cookbook. It was quite good!

Tres leches is a staple at many of the parties I attended when I was a child. I've always found it soggy and, therefore, a little offputting. Maybe I wasn't trying the right kind. My mom went on a trip to Mexico City a while ago and she said she had an excellent tres leches that was just pleasantly moist, rather than soggy.
