Got accepted to a doctoral program
Just opened the letter. It's a DMin, not as impressive as a PhD...but I could still call myself "Dr.". Not sure how I'll pay for it, but I've cleared the first hurdle.

Now I really am going to work.

Was using a well known phrase.

You go woman! :) And I will have a beer for you. Well, more than one...but I will dedicate one to you!

21. I have a sense of what a doctoral program is like
I did a year's worth of doctoral coursework right after my master's. That was in social ethics, and when I saw how the future ethicists of the world treated one another, I quit and got ordained. In this program, I'd stay where I am, do a lot of work online or sending papers in, and do a two-week residency on campus each year. I've already done some coursework with two of these profs for my continuing ed requirements, and I think this will be better than that PhD experience. Time will tell.

Thanks for the condolences and the congrat! :hi:

23. Good
For myself, the classes weren't a problem really. The doctoral program was a pain in the ass because of my advisor, which I've heard is really common. There's people that say that if you like your advisor after graduation you've missed something in your program...

20. University of Dubuque Theological Seminary
I've applied to two other programs, but haven't heard from 'em yet. I want to do work relating to rural ministry and church revitalization.

Thanks for the congrats!
