??!!WOW.

Before you JUMP; I was forced to rent it; having driven the two hours away from my house with my three year old to pick up my husband from work, at which time my car propmtly broke down at three in the morning. No, I don't have triple aaa or anything else to cover my ass; so I had to treck to the nearby airport and rent whatever was available. The caddy four door was all they had.

I'm impressed! 36 to the gallon? That's what my (other car) Honda gets!!

4. I was astonished.
The needle barely moved, and I drove 100 miles.

3. Mostly highway.
I think it is the DTS - it seemed to have all the bells and wistles on the interior. Very nice, of course.

9. DTS?
that's a 4.6 liter V8.

wow.

makes sense if you did mostly highway driving. the engine shuts off four cylinders when you get to cruising speed. i guess it really does work.

6. Escalade Hybrid coming next month
The 2008 Escalade Hybrid will go on sale in the fall of 2007. The Escalade hybrid will gain 25 percent in fuel economy, which should put its fuel consumption at highway speeds close to 30 mpg.

7. That's better than what I'm driving right now...
of course, that's because my little honda went crunch because some dumbass in a big van in front of me decided to stop at a green light. On a wet road. And by the time I realized the brake lights weren't just a sign of them slowing down for the intersection, it was too late for me to stop.
So I'm stuck driving the car my parents were about to get rid of... a big-ass van, almost identical to the one that caused my accident that lost me my car in the first place. How's that for irony?

8. nothing wrong with a caddy
was it a 6 cylinder midline unit or one of those 8 cylinder displacement on demand motors (the nicer models have these)?

if you got 36 mpg on the new 8 cyl GM puts out, that is pretty awesome.
