What does it mean when you dream of people you do not know? |
|
This happened to me last night. I was not even in the dream. And I recognized no one. It's like I was watching a movie or something. Maybe I should have tried to write it down and sell it to Hollywood.

1. I find it so weird that people dream in third person. |
|
You're not the first I have heard this from.
I always dream in the first person perspective. My dreams are exactly like being awake, except that when I wake up I realise they weren't real.

5. considering how much media we see, it's weird we don't do it more often |
|
altho i'll be the first to admit the majority of my dreams are in first person, but certainly not all of them

I haven't even had a date in more months than I care to mention.

what does it mean to you...
:D
i would guess that we see lots of people that we don't know and our brain registers those faces and can create faces.
it's your dream though...

4. Did you actually see faces? |
|
Were there any distinguishing characteristics?

They might have been actors but I don't remember recognizing any of them.

10. Sometimes I dream that I'm reading something... |
|
only I can't actually focus on the words. And there have been times when I've dreamt of a person I never met, but I can't actually tell what they look like.
I wonder if the part of our brain that deals with visual recognition is not engaged during dream activity; and that the people we "recognize" in dreams are merely familiar because they exist in other areas of memory.
