2. I see it as the trial run for Justice League |
|
Superman's not my favorite character, but the efforts of Bruce Timm and Co. put Bryan Singer and many of the comics scribes to shame. My favorite episode was when Clark Kent was "killed" in a car wreck, leaving Superman to find the culprit. The closing shot is priceless.
Still, the true stroke of genius was hiring Michael Ironside to voice Darkseid. His episodes were the best from both Superman and Justice League.

3. I love two episodes, in particular. |
|
The movie where Superman and Batman met, and the one where Superman "filled in" as Batman once.
When "Batman" beat the crap out of Bane, I laughed my butt off.

8. Those were great episodes |
|
I think it was Montoya who, having sized up "Batman", remarked to Gordon: "Did he look bigger to you?"

And the dialogue was priceless.
Mad Hatter: "It's not possible!"
Bane: "Oof! Ugh! Ouch!"
:D

4. Not quite as good as Batman or Justice League, but still good. |
|
And they had some good crossover episodes.

5. I'll get back to you when I find some full episodes. |
|
So far, I've only seen clips.
I thought casting that dumb-acting guy from "Everybody Loves Raymond" as the voice of Lobo was a stroke of utter genius, though.
Don't suppose you have any links?

http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/2/163Especially watch "Knight Time." And the 2-parter with Lobo is there too, "The Main Man."

Have since i was a kid reading the comics back in the 60s. The 90s animated series was the single best rendition of Superman ever done, IMO. Even better than the Chris Reeve films. The only exception was the horrible Superman v. Braniac. I've got all the got the DVD boxed sets. Next ones are the JL/JLU boxed sets. Doomsday looks pretty good.

The greatest f---ing arc in all of superhero-dom. It began with the Justice Lords two-parter, ended with the final assault on Brainiac, and left millions of geeks in awe.
We will never see anything that cool again.

I was truly shocked by just how dark that entire arc was. Especially in a cartoon that children watched.
