10. Well, the attempts to split the California electorial votes may enter into this |
|
Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
But if that fault split big time, it WOULD get rid of a lot of liberals in California... :tinfoilhat:

...of California/Nevada eastern sierra desert for a couple of days about the same time that Fossett disappeared (we were in far eastern CA). We got an intermittent cell phone connection on the second day, reached an Inyo county deputy sheriff and described our problem-- stuck in the desert, running out of water.
The deputy told us that we were on our own, that neither the county, the California state patrol, nor the U.S. Forest Service had the resources to help us. He did give me phone numbers for a couple of commercial towing services, and we eventually got someone from Bishop to come find us on the Inyo National Forest for an embarrassingly large amount of money.
Now granted, I'm not Steve Fossett, but when we got back I couldn't help but wonder why California and Nevada could come up with the resources to search for Fossett but told us we had to either walk out of the desert without water or find someone who we could pay to come look for us. This happened last Sunday.

I gotta wonder why they are spending so much time, money and resources to find this guy. Obviously if it were someone not so famous they could not give a shit. Provided that is the real reasont ehy are out there that is.

It might have been nasty, but we could have walked to a paved road if necessary. We had water and shade, although we ultimately paid for towing because the water was getting low. Would have hiked out at night if we couldn't get help. I'm still pissed that the FS couldn't be bothered to come check on us. It would have been easy to get my pickup back on the road. The guy who towed me only had to winch me ten feet. :grr:

4. What if Fosset stole it? |
|
The B-52 drops/launches/loses an AGM-129. Fosset is part of a conspiracy to find and recover the nuke in his own plane. Supposedly, the W80 nuclear bomb that the missile carries only weights 290 pounds. He could haul that away in a Cessna 172.

I understood that the "loose nukes" were on a B-52 that took a flight from North Dakota from Louisiana. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there is almost no flight path between those points that would take the plane over the area in Nevada where Fosset is missing. Unless they made an unscheduled side trip that hasn't been reported.
While it is possible that there may be some national security thing going on, I highly doubt it is directly connected to the B-52 story.

9. Any proof they ever found the missiles from that A-10 that went missing a few years ago? |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 10:02 AM by havocmom
We know they found the wreckage, but I believe the missiles were not found.
My sister had a chance to speak to a seriously high up AF officer WAY out of earshot from traditional eavesdropping and he said they believed those weapons were somewhere in Montana. Her husband laughed and asked how the pilot could land and have weapons unloaded without anyone seeing. He has never been to Montana. She told him there are a LOT of miles of very straight roads with damned few people anywhere around.
Come to think of it... we have had an awful lot of fed $$ for widening, smoothing, straightening some pretty remote stretches of blacktop since '01.
