"It's BRITNEY, bitch!" Or, why derby really doesn't give a damn anymore
Yeah, I saw Britney's "performance" on VMA last night. The only reason ginbarn and I watched it was to see what Criss Angel had in store. I didn't see a damn thing. Did the trick fall through, or was Criss having a bad night?

And yeah, the performance was so bad that Britney might as well have relieved herself on stage. She lip-synced. She walked around looking completely bored. And her wardrobe almost malfunctioned on stage while her legs were spread. Whoopee. I was so glad when Sarah Silverman dissed Britney afterwards during her monologue.

But here's the real tragedy. Ever hear of Baboon? Gil Scott-Heron? S.U.N. Project? Old 97's? LCD Soundsystem? Amy Rigby? St. Vincent? If not, there's so much great music out there that you're seriously missing out on - partially because the media is all about Britney, Britney, Britney! Good or bad, they don't give a damn anymore about good music by artists that actually seem to care. And none of them lip-sync, either.

And BTW, Elvis pretty much invented the comeback. Britney ain't no Elvis.
