I'm bored. Tell me about your garbage cans.

1. End of the counter, next to the back door.
Makes taking the trash out much easier.

4. My garbage can is inanimate. I work super hard to keep it that way.
Score one for "other".

6. I have several kitchen TGRs (temporary garbage receptacles)
One large yogurt container for coffee filters, apple cores, veggie peelings, next to the back door (on its way out to the compost pile.)
One reused plastic bag in the freezer to collect the week's chicken bones, meat and cheese wrappers, and other stuff which would attract our dog (and possibly ants), or become stinky.
One regular kitchen wastebasket for any stuff that can't be recycled or composted.
Metal, aluminum cans, cardboard, paper, glass, plastic sorted for recycling.
Sheesh, it's become a hobby...(an obsession?)

11. Haven't had a chance to do it yet
I'm officially returning to work tomorrow PT, and I've been busy cleaning/moving back into my apartment after living at my mom's for the past six weeks. Hopefully I'll get a chance this weekend....

:hi:

10. i have an island and the GC is next to it along with the old kitty food bucket that holds my compost
they both fit neatly on the far side so they can only be seen from the kitchen or the back door

it actually works well. I usually have it under the sink but in this place it's too crowded under there with the reverse osmosis unit

12. It hangs out where it is easily available, and easily moved to suit my needs.
I have a large kitchen, so mine is left out on the floor so it can be moved wherever it is needed most.

13. I really have two in the kitchen, my dear no name no slogan...
One is under the sink for the icky stuff...

The other is under my butcher block table which is part of the island, and it's a huge box lined with a plastic bag...

It's for the dry trash, papers and other non-recyclable stuff...

It works really well for me!

:hi:

15. other - sort of
small wastebasket under the sink, but most trash goes out on the back screened-in porch to be sorted into paper for burning, aluminum, and gross/plastic trash. All food and organic mater goes out to the back gate for dogs/chickens/skunks/whatever (cows love melon rinds, did anybody know that?)

16. Other...
It's not in a corner, but it is at one end of the kitchen, between the dishwasher and the fridge, next to the dog food vault.
