I'm leaving DU (no, really - well, not totally) |

The power supply on my 5 year old PC finally bit the dust last night, in a literal cloud of smoke.
So until I either replace the power supply & fan ($120) or just buy myself a new system (which I'll more likely end up doing), I won't be here nearly as much. I have a web-based e-mail account you can reach me at, if you are so inclined - just click the "send e-mail" icon next to my name.
Be good. :hi:

3. $120??!? Geez, what kind of power supply do you need? |
|
If the PC is 5 years old, you shouldn't need a ton of power. Something like this should do for most systems: http://www.ecost.com/ecost/shop/detail.asp?DPNo=532961&adcampaign=email,ECOSTCNET$43, free shipping.

4. Just going by the manufacturer's website |
|
It's an old e-machines PC, and I couldn't say what is or is not compatible with it -- that's just the parts e-machines have in stock to replace them.
$120 is a lot - which is why I'll more likely be buying new, like I said.

Go to a Fry's or CompUSA and buy a standard ATX power supply for about $30.
