'Dead' Man Wakes Up Under Autopsy Knife
CARACAS (Reuters) - A Venezuelan man who had been declared dead woke up in the morgue in excruciating pain after medical examiners began their autopsy.

Carlos Camejo, 33, was declared dead after a highway accident and taken to the morgue, where examiners began an autopsy only to realize something was amiss when he started bleeding. They quickly sought to stitch up the incision on his face.

"I woke up because the pain was unbearable," Camejo said, according to a report on Friday in leading local newspaper El Universal.

His grieving wife turned up at the morgue to identify her husband's body only to find him moved into a corridor -- and alive.

1. The stuff of nighmares
You would think, with today's technology, they could tell if a guy was dead or alive.

5. Woke up in the OR once
could see the docs and nurses in their barf green scrubs. But they were all finished and wanting to wheel me into the recovery room. I remember saying that I was cold and they gave me a heated blanket. Ahhhh..

Can't imagine waking up during my own autopsy! :hurts: doesn't begin to cover it. Luckily they figured it out. :wow:

6. Man if I woke up on the autopsy table.
They would definitly know I was alive, from the smell. If I woke up and saw the coroner standing over me with a knife. I would leave a brown stain they would never get out. And the screaming would be able to be heard all over the building.

7. The man was pronounced dead.
He was then moved to a better hospital, where his condition was upgraded to: alive.
