I will be spending this weekend in a old cabin by a lake, no power or telephone.
The cabin is very nice and it is so quiet.

Nothing but fishing and peace and quiet.

I need to get away.

1. That sounds pretty good.
I'd bring a stack of books and a cozy quilt if I were coming with you.

3. We will take a cellphone just in case something should happen .
Other then that I am gone for the weekend.

No city lights, no traffic sounds, just sounds of nature.

My dog knows something is up because she is getting excited.

I have all my fishing gear ready to go, my fishing clothes ready, all I need is to get the cooler ready.

We will need ice for all the fish.

4. Can I come with?
I desperately need a break like that. It sounds absolutely tantalizing. A lake, the woods, cabin, no Phone, aaaahhh. Have fun!!!

5. It can get so quiet there that you can hear the animal moving around in the woods,
There is a small boat for fishing, a pier if you don't want to go out on the water.

The dark is so dark that when you go ouside you cannot see your hand in front of your face.

The cabin has a wood burning stove, and now solar powered lights.

What I really like is looking at the night sky, the millions of stars.

8. I might take pictures.
This cabin belongs to a friend's family, it is made out of cedar logs.

The cabin is over 100 years old.

There is a little general store in the area so we will pick ice and food there.

I will be leaving Friday morning with my dog and meet a one of my friend's there to get the cabin ready for the others.

The cabin as the best smell.

I could move out there full time if I had the internet.

14. The lake nice and full now because of all the rain.
The cabin has a beautiful smell of cedar, even more now that the rain has come and the cabin logs are drying out.

I want to move out there full time, but I would need my computer and internet.

I would need more solar or wind power.

9. I'm so jealous!
Been trying to plan a weekend away for a long time. I'm partial to B&Bs in and around New Braunfels.
*sigh*

10. When there's no electricity...
The nights are the blackest of black, unless you have a good moon. The upside to that is that the stars look so close you could reach up and grab one.

11. Sounds like rural central and western North Dakota
outside the greater Minot and Bismarck/Mandan urban areas.

12. The full moon lights up the whole lake.
The stars are just beautiful, if we are lucky the owls will be out and about.
