First day back at work, after vacation, and...

...I started to cry while at work. I wish the doctor would have told me I had menopause... then I would have a logical explanation for this.

It started out okay this morning... great actually. But then I got that one customer... there is one, about every 6 months or so... who has that ability to get to me. It was a personal attack-- the worst kind. Telling me I didn't know my job well.

One would think, after working for 3 airlines, 15 years total, I would have a thick skin. God, why can't I just be strong?

At least I'm off work early. I'm docked pay, but I don't care.

There are people, strong people, who let it roll off them... and, that's what we are supposed to be able to do. If you let it get to you it will drive you crazy-- and it will. But, thanks. :hug:

5. the older I get the less convinced I am that that is strength

some people just don't have emotional depth. At the extreme they are sociopaths. I used to want to be like them til I got to know a few up close and personal...then it was like 'ick'.

My cousin is sort of like that. She works customer service and it really doesn't get to her. But there are some kinks in her psyche... :shrug:

6. I can see that...

..at this moment, though, I would love to be logical rather than emotional. A friend of mine said it best, when he said this, "You should control your emotions rather than let your emotions control you." That is what I am hoping for... and what I've hoped for all of my life. 9. I am just glad I have them

I know what you mean. It sucks when people are assholes. With the amount of people you deal with everyday it's a wonder you don't get hurt by it more often. I know I would. I am easily hurtable, unfortunately, and some people are really good at honing in on that. I am glad to know *you*, and this other person is someone I don't wanna know, for certain. Gawd...I know when I get pms I am especially sensitive to stuff that would not bother me at all at other times. I really have to be careful who I interact with on those days. Just cry it out, there is no shame in that.

I think it was the initial shock of being back, coupled with that one customer. Usually, I like my job. It's sort of the ultimate love-hate relationship. I hate the stress, but I enjoy the challenge... and though many of you won't believe it, I really like the satisfaction of helping people. I know... that is difficult to believe... but it's true.

I will be working two weeks of early voting next month, that is enough for me.

15. I do it to help out a friends brother, it is hard to get people to work those long hours for two

weeks.

The crew is fun and we get along but some of the people who come in to vote are just rude.

It is even worse on Election day when I hold the election in my precinct, I must be a masochist to do that.

Really works, last time I used it and I didn't get a cold, everybody else did.

The problem is that people grab your pen and you get their germs, I also keep my pen safe from voters now.

The long hours are really hard, Saturday and then Monday-Friday are 12 hours, 7 to 7.

We spend more hours at work then we do at home.

Then there is the election day anothe 12 hours and after election work, by the end everyone is really tired.
