Clueless Here Please Help?

Could someone kindly send me a link or briefly fill me in as to what the whole "Circuit City" "do I need to show a receipt?" thing is all about.

I was absent from class for awhile and now feel like I am missing out on something. Its like math class in high school all over again. I'm clueless.

I'd do a search myself but I am temporarily without my star until my snail mail donation which I sent today reaches DU.

1. Google "circuit city, receipt" under News and you'll see a bunch of articles.

Basically a guy was stopped at the door and asked to show his receipt for his purchase. He refused, a conflict ensued and he was cuffed. If I remember correctly he is suing for a violation of his civil rights.

Turned into a huge debate over whether or not a store asking for confirmation of purchase constitutes a police state and what sort of slippery slope that creates.

some cornhole tried to bust out the Constitution against a store security guard, rather than busting out his receipt, and then felt the need to blog about it. some other cornhole found the blog and posted it in GD. Hilarity ensued.
