Daddy Brag: My Daughter's First Parody! |
|
Yesterday evening our Ms. Charlotte, 2 and a half, is sitting on the floor playing with her toys and singing the "Barney" theme. As a parent, I consider Barney to be the embodiment of evil even as my daughter loves him. Until I hear her sing this:
I love you You love me We're a happly family with a..hug and kiss..me you, (clearly) This old man came rolling home...
This may not sound like much to you, but to Daddy the musician it means ONE wondrous thing: She's made the connection between melody and lyrics.
Thank ye, Jeesus.
I wonder if I can teach her to combine the Barney song with the 'Jeopardy' song....

such a great age, they sing and sing , my daughter sang for years straight until she hit puberty and decided that what others think of her was more important than singing. (She does play the piano, though)
I cant remember that name of the song, but at 2 or 3 she loved the one that had lyrics some thing like this - she sang it over and over
I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills I love the daffodils boom di yada boom di yada boom di yada boom di yada
I can still hear her singing that , I wish I had taped her. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE A TAPE OF YOUR DAUGHTER ! It may seem silly now, but 15 years from now it will be a treasure to you.

When she was 3 or so, that was my daughter's favourite bath-time song. I think hse made it up herself. "Oh, I got the whale blues! (splash) I got the whale blues (splash-splash)"
I think I have it on tape someplace.
