Why the hell did Bruce Campbell never become a big star?
He had looks, acting skills, humor, charisma, a cult following, etc. By all accounts he should have been one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

Why the hell did it never work out for him?

1. His bio doesn't suggest he's a failure.
Maybe he's o.k. with the way things turned out.

2. Rarely are the true artists appreciated in their time...
You watch...250 years from now there will be a religion based on Bruce Campbell. You'll see! (Or maybe our great grandchildren.)

13. What are you talking about? I already worship Bruce Campbell!
He's the best reason to watch that new show Burn Notice and his Old Spice commercials make me laugh every single time.

16. I like...
the 40 foot painting behind him.

We saw him promote "If Chins Could Kill" at a bookstore in Dallas a few years ago, and he was hilarious!

9. He's too quirky smart for the midwest.
Even though that's where he's from.

It works very well in his books, however, if you haven't read them yet.

11. The last book he wrote suggests that he didn't do "big studio politics" that well.
Although it was presented as fiction, I really got
the impression that he doesn't care much for the
office politics at the "major" studios.

12. You are correct!
I've read a few interviews where he's pretty much said he doesn't play the Hollywood game of suck up and kiss ass to get a role. If you ever get a chance to see him live, do it. He's fantastic!

18. Rent "The Adventures of Brisco County Junior"
Rent "the Adventures of Brisco County Junior" One season only. 28 episodes. One of the greatest TV shows ever. There is no one I know who has watched it and didn't love it!

It was a sci-fi western comedy with great actors and characters.

19. I don't know, and that bugs me, too!
x(

He's on that Burn Notice show now... I loved being able to see him in new stuff weekly. :)

But IMO he was always the perfect comedy action star... that jaw, those eyes... it's just wrong that he wasn't cast in lots more stuff.

22. I love Bruce.
I used to get so excited when it was an episode of "Xena" with him in it. "Bubbahotep" was hilarious and he's perfect in "Burn Notice" (which I missed the finale of-hope they play it this weekend).

23. Super huge he's not, but he's got staying power.
He'll be involved in the industry long after some current A-listers careers are over and have been forgotten. At least that's my opinion.
