8. Now Mastermind

When I was over there, I liked watching that show. When I found the TV Room where I was staying in London this summer, I made a point to watch Mastermind every week.

It's so simple, simple set, simple theme music, yet has a very dramatic and intimidating feel to it. (IIRC, I remember reading somewhere that the show's original creator wanted to create a "Gestapo interrogation" type of atmosphere.) Hell, any game show that can pull off complete silence like Mastermind can is impressive in my book.

I'd like to see something similar here in the States, but I'm not sure that it could be successful over here. Hell, I'm not sure you'd be able to get the timing down right. You only get about 20 minutes to make room for commercials for a half hour show here in the States, where with the BBC, you can get around 25 minutes.
