A Tail Of Puppy Telepathy (A True Story) |
|
My sister is back in town for a while (against my advice, but that's another story), and thus so is the true love of my life, her Chocolate Lab, Lady.
I helped raise Lady, and we've formed a loving bond over the past four years and more- she takes me for my evening walkies, I drive her to the park, I sneak her doggie biscuits, we go swimming together. Well, "swimming" may not be the precise word- we jump into the pool, I hold my arms out, and she floats into them and relaxes in my arms for as long as I can hold out (fifteen minutes or so is not unusual).
Apparently she even knows when I'm going to come over before it happens- my sister swears that when I called her earlier this evening, even before she answered the phone Lady frantically jumped up, ran out to the front door and began staring at it intently. She KNEW it was me calling, and she KNEW I was going to knock on that door soon. She KNEW I was coming just to walk her around the neighborhood. She sat there staring at the door for almost fifteen minutes until I arrived. When I opened the door she literally jumped at me in her eagerness.
She KNEW.
It's odd because walkies do NOT happen every night, so Lady can't possibly know for sure it's me or if I'm coming over. But tonight she KNEW.
Is your furball so finely attuned to you? Are your small friends psychic?
Do they KNOW?
Lady sure does.

1. My dear Prisoner_Number_Six! |
|
What a cool story!
I haven't had any pets in years, so I cannot remember any of them behaving like this...
But I'll bet she does know it's you!
She might be picking up some subtle non-verbal cues from your sister....
Cherish Lady! She obviously cherishes you...

2. Lady reacted BEFORE my sister answered the phone. |
|
NO WAY Puppy Girl could read cues that were not there.

3. I have a cat that my ex gave me |
|
and she knows when I am talking to him on the phone. She probably just hears his voice, but still, it's cute!

4. that is a great story, thanks for sharing it |
|
We have a dog here now who seems eerily attuned to people's (as well as other animals') moods, on the night we had the lunar eclipse I saw him break up the two cats from fighting a couple of times, they are a brother and sister that don't always get along. He is definitely an empath. I don't know if that is the same thing as what you are describing, maybe a lesser degree. It was so nice to read about that puppy being so excited by your appearance.

5. Yeah, animals are usually pretty psychic. |
|
For instance, I don't believe they "smell" fear. I think they can feel/tap into the feelings people around them are having.
Sometimes I'll "think" a positive message to my cat, and sure enough he'll look at me and blink slowly...even though my body language never changed.

6. Have you heard the stories about how very few wild animals were killed |
|
in the tsunami that devastated Thailand and Indonesia a few years back? Apparently, they had all moved further inland right before the wave hit.
Animals do have senses, who knows what they are. I'm throughly convinced that dogs can detect Earthquakes before they actually hit. There's too many stories from people I know to well who tell me how their dog started going crazy right before an Earthquake hit. Whether its psychic or whether its the fact that they can hear things humans can't I don't know. But I think humans might have some of these abilities as well, it's just that we've long since stopped using them and like any ability, it fades with non-use.
