Feeling ambivalent about my grandmother's death |
|
She was actually my dad's stepmother. His mom died when he was young.
It has been some time since I have seen her. I remember loving her as a child. Then, I grew up and heard how she treated my Dad. He was treated like crap.
My work gives bereavement. I don't think my parents are going up north for the funeral, but I wonder if I should take the time off to be with my dad.

He's probably feeling very ambivalent himself and could use the support.
