I am a horrible mother and a worse liberal. |
|
I sent my sons to wallyworld to buy bake and take pizza and beer. After they fill the gas hog truck (not an suv - maybe worse) with lots of gas.
I am ashamed. but hungry.

2. Your truck is actually used for work |

not for show. I wouldn't be ashamed at all. And as far as Wallyworld, I'm on my way there now to buy a space heater. I can't argue with the prices when I'm scraping by as it is.
Don't beat yourself up.

I'm not really beating myself up and I avoid it as much as I can, but yeah, things are tight and ya have to do what you can.
I am evil though, because I always try to send somebody else there.

I buy all my work clothes there and they are American made. Dickies makes great khaki style pants as well as real work stuff I wear to work on the farm. Well, soon to be farm. I have a lot of work to do to get it ready for animals.
It really does save a lot of money buying dry goods there instead of at the grocery store and since there is nothing remotely close to me I find myself going there quite often to stock up.

10. oooo I get dickies jeans for $10! |
|
at this strange little variety store called Alco - seems to be a local small town deal (and wally world will probably wipe them out), but they sell a lot of cheap chinese crap as well as lots of jeans and t shirts. The dickies are supposed to be seconds, but I have been buying them for years and aside from one defective zipper I've never found anything wrong with them in the least.
wallyworld has real butter for $2.34/lb.

8. I heard tonight that there is a new Wallyworld supercenter |
|
in Alma Arkansas that is an "all natural" store. They sell health foods, and use incandescent flourescent bulbs, etc.
And a Sam's Club in Rogers that powers itself on windmills.
:eyes:
Wal mart is there, and where i live the choices are few because they've destroyed the mom and pop stores basically.

15. I guess it's "progress" |
|
in my little town, when I was young there was a real mom and pop market, then the IGA store moved in and pretty much put them out of business, then came the Safeway, which put the IGA out, and now wallyworld. There was an article in the paper recently about them starting to stock local regional products...we will see.
