2. Any idea why these things failed?

If you're getting a lot of equipment going kaput it might be a sign of bad current. My parents kept having computer problems until they bought a UPS (uninterrupted power supply, not the shipping company. Although I got hit by a falling UPS at UPS about a year ago... :P ) and all of a sudden their computers are fine.

3. Yes, I do have an idea.... (evil laugh)

My glass stove oven door exploded (Oct. - Week One)

Then... my dishwasher (Oct. - Week Two) refused to.. well, wash dishes!! :(

And now tonight, my six year old monitor took a crap!!

I have surge protectors all over my house as a necessity.
(Wiring is, literally, from 1964!!) No 3 prong grounded outlets!

But I rent and the other two are replaced (stove) as will the dishwasher soon.

But MY monitor "shit the bed" today. It's on 'life support'.

Meaning... "If I beat it...'just right', it'll work, for a minute or two." :P

But it's getting old and all the stores are closed. :P

Actually? I went on Craig's List and found a woman with 3 monitors, for FREE!

I'm picking up two at noon tomorrow, while I wait for my new one to be delivered. ;)

I suspect this monitor has been subjected to many "dirty power" episodes in the last
seven years living here but I guess I was due to get a new one for my new computer anyway.
