The cat is out of the bag - I mean, the room |
|
We have freed little Sunflower from the confines of the spare bedroom. He has explored every inch of the rest of the house and is currently playing chase with Morrissey. I'm happy that Morrissey has found a playmate now. At first he hissed at Sunny, but now they're chasing each other madly through the house. Monty, on the other hand, is pissed and hisses and growls at Sunny every time he sees him. Poor guy. I think he'll eventually get used to Sunflower, but for now he's not pleased.

3. Do you think we should leave him out all the time now? |
|
Or put him back in during the day while we're gone? I'm not certain what to do.

5. Uh for your houses sake...I would lock him away during the day |
|
at least for a little while. Mine are 18 months old and they STILL get into all kinds of stuff while I'm gone (no more TP on the rollers in the bathroom- getting sick of shredded or unrolled stuff on the floor....oh yeah and say goodbye to any curtains you have...I have yet to meet a kitten that doesn't consider those their personal climbing wall....:eyes:

6. Well... it would be safer for your kitten to lock him in there ... |
|
when you are away... for just a bit longer.
I didn't know the first thing about introducing a new cat... and just let mine run free...
they fought like maniacs for years... the vet would always get a kick at putting a light to their
ears and saying, "Somebody's been fighting!"

2. "Cat in bag" is one of my favorite literary quotes: |
|
From V.S. Naipaul's "A House for Mr. Biswas." The main character is in a discussion group, Indian emigrees to Trinidad. They are discussing the tradition of arranged marriages, and one of the more vocal spouts, "These arranged marriages, it is just cat in bag, cat in bag."

My husband is Pakistani, and I'm well aware of the arranged marriage tradition. Thanks for posting - I hadn't read that before!
