4. I'm taking the menfolk

I play drumset and so does my son, and my husband likes those drumming meditation/trance/ journey CDs.

So it should be interesting!

Not much new... same ole same ole... I was hoping to go to this Goddess Festival near Austin but it didn't work out... maybe next year, though. How've you been lately?

7. had the nasty cold

and it's still quite warm here - kind of odd. Kids are still wearing shorts to school.

Just work, house stuff and playing bass with some professors on the weekend. Trying to get my music chops back...

I started getting a sore throat last night. Was feeling weak / achy this morning. I hope it's not my turn!

9. it's still kind of hanging on - I still have some of the cough

mine had that achy aspect to it. I was drinking Throat Coat tea and popping Advil for a few days... Rest seems to be the best thing for it and lots of liquids.

3. I envy you!

That should be GREAT! I failed to get off my ass to get tickets. My loss. Nobody exposes the eternal rhythms of life better than world-class drummers such as that lot. I predict you'll be walking on air after the concert.

5. I took my son to see a drumming concert at the Uni here about 2 years ago

with a wonderful African drummer and the drummer from Rusted Root (who are from here).

It was excellent and participatory. Very inspiring.
