4. I hope not
but if they lose there will be talk. Francona is becoming more and more Grady Little like. Using guys who haven't contributed and leaving real contributors off the roster.

10. That was sarcasm
Dodgers shoulda been contenders in the NL West. Instead, they started taking themselves out of it on May 18. x(

Not sure I can even name all the AAA National League teams that call themselves big league.

5. The offer appears an opening bid in negotiations with the Yankees.

When Don Mattingly refused to take the job, the top brass of the Yankees offered Joe a 1 year contract beginning with 5 million and incentives to get up to 8 million.

Joe will hold out for 3 years and I will see him get rehired.

I have rooted for the Yankees for 50 years through championship years and not. Joe has brought the Yanks to 12 playoffs, one for every year that he has managed. You cannot ask for more than that. Joe has brought the Yankees to 4 World series championships and that appears more than Billy Martin has done if I recall correctly.

Only Casey Stengel, Joe McCarthy and Bucky Harris have done better than Joe.

The negotiations have just begun.

I consider Joe a first class manager and a person.

Oh and I hope the Red Sox beat the Indians 3 games in a row to get into the World Series.

6. Joe is the greatest manager of our era
and thank you for the Red Sox wish.

I was at game 5 in 2004 and I'm not sure this team has the same heart that those guys had.

7. When the cable company that I had broadcasted Red Sox games
on WSBK years ago, I would watch the Red Sox when the Yanks didn't play that day or had finished their game for the day so I like watching the Red Sox.

I don't have cable right now and I await Verizon FIOS to get installed here so I can get their TV.

12. took me awhile to 'get' the picture
duh!

I'd love to see it. I enjoy Torre's totally unemotional and calculating style. Sure, he's not always right, but who is?

I also thing he's a class act by refusing the come back offer. The guy was dropped one heartbeat after being sent out of the playoffs, there's no fucking loyalty there. Fuck Steinbrenner, just like the GOP, I think he's in for a great fall. All money and no class only gets you so far.
