Advice: Easing back into exercise after a cold? |
|
My running and swimming schedule has gone by the wayside these last 2 weeks. I ran once and swam once while I was out of town for a week, then brought home a cold which kept me laid up at home for 3 days. Plus jet lag had me fatigued.
I did not swim or run this week (especially swim. Can you say 'pneumonia'?) . Most of the congestion has cleared up though. How do you suggest I ease back?

1. Divide everything by 3 for your first day back. |
|
Next day also by 3. Day after that by 2. Day after that by 2. After that, you should be back up to speed.

2. Hey there fitness advisor! |
|
Thank you!
BTW I did not neglect my fitness while I was away. I ran in the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, over on the east side of Paris in the 20th arrondissement, while I was there. Hilly, or as the locals comment, "Ça grimpe!" I also swam at the local municipal pool, Cour des Lions, in the 11th. We did a LOT of walking.

Just saying I don't want to worsen my upper respiratory woes by jumping into a pool at 5:30 am.
