Britney Spears bursts into tears and drives away after running over paparazzo's foot

In her latest in a series of driving-related woes, the embattled pop princess appeared to run over the foot of a paparazzo Thursday while exiting a Beverly Hills medical building.

Video footage of the incident shows photographers swarming Spears' white Mercedes convertible as she tries to pull out of the garage.

She honks and lurches forward, and suddenly there are shouts, as the paparazzi are seen leaning over one of their own, whose foot apparently had an unfortunate up-close-and-personal encounter with Spears' tire.

According to a paparazzo who filmed the incident, Spears put her hand up to her mouth in shock and burst into tears, but drove away without stopping to check if the man was all right. "She knew after he fell and he didn't back up, and he was just stuck at the front of the car," the lensman told Los Angeles' local ABC affiliate.

2. How sad.
Papparazzi should be hit at full throttle, preferably after a good quarter mile to gather speed. They are scum.

4. Far be it from me to defend Little Miss Trust-The-President, but...
...if a paparazzo is blocking your car, so that your only options are to possibly run over his foot or sit helplessly while he snaps away, I'd say he deserves what might happen to him should he try to prevent you from leaving.

5. Well, it had to happen. I'm with Britney on this one.
I know, I shuddered when I said that.

If these leeches (paparazzo) are going to stand in front of a car in motion and block their egress, then fuck 'em. I didn't see any "lurching" in the video, either. It's a job-related danger, so go cry to The Enquirer/TMZ.

8. They have the right to act with complete disrespect towards people...
yet if something happens to one of them, listen to them whine and cry. I despise them, personally. Zero sympathy from me. Zero.

10. I could never really get *angry* at the celebs who stopped tolerating them.
The Nicholson/Sean Penn/Depp types that'd flip them off or curse them. Can't really blame them.

I'd probably pay a company to send a goon along with me everywhere. Can't sue me, sue his employer when he pushes you out of my way.

11. She must have been drunk.
Had she been thinking clearly, she should have stopped, put the car in reverse and finished him off.

12. Those scumbags swarm over her wherever she goes.. Whether or not she
is worth the attention (she's not) isn't the point.. they seem to be provoking her to do something- anything. She should have run over a few more feet.

14. eh, I'm thinking someone needs to hire that woman a driver
she's unbalanced and a danger to herself and others. She's just been booked on misdemeanor hit and run with a parked car and now she runs over someone's foot and just leaves? That's just not right unless the victim is a member of the current administration.

15. I partially disagree
I think the paparazzi need to accept their share of the responsibility in this, and all the other, similar incidents involving britney and her accidents. There will come a time when the courts realize this as well. I only hope that day comes soon. If I were a lawyer, I would go out to Cali right now and offer to represent Britney in a claim against the paparazzi.

17. Would someone please step up and help this young woman.,.
deal with her anger and her depression?

I get no joy out of reading these articles.

Too many people are enjoying watching a pretty, successful girl (that they think didn't deserve it) go through a terrible time in her life. I actually worry that she's going to end up dead.

:(

20. It should be perfectly legal
to run over a paparazzo standing in front of your car. In fact, there should be a tax credit for doing so.
