What music are you listening to?
I heard Carrie Underwood's new CD Carnival Ride at cmt.com. There are more upbeat tunes than last time, which is a good thing. "Flat on the Floor," with its fresh, goovey sound, even is as good as "Before He Cheats." She gets herself to SOUND country on such songs as "Get Out of This Town" and "Crazy Dreams." And the humorous "More Boys I Meet" could be called a guilty pleasure. The ballad "Wheel of the World" actually reminds me of Rosanne Cash! On the negative side, some ballads still are a little overproduced, and her voice, while powerful, still autopilots its way through a song sometimes. She sings the Randy Travis cover song "I Told You So" in a tender way, but even her tender side doesn't change much vocally. Still, it is a pretty strong second album. I might buy it.

Also heard Jimmy Eat World's Futures CD today, which is very highly recommended!

Everyone have a great weekend. :hi:

6. Yep, got that one
It might be their quietest except for the jarring "Bodysnatchers," and it has such beautiful textures. It does sound like a majestic painting.
