Vegas sucks, it's overpriced, people are mean and the entire city smells like an ashtray.

the strip just seems so tawdry and vacuous... and the whole concept just seems stupid. Why build a town in the fucking desert?

4. I've been to LA...

but I barely left the hotel. A friend was mugged our first night there, so I got paranoid and just hung around the hotel the entire weekend. I hear it's not the most beautiful city... but although I had a chance to see for myself, I missed it.

Away from the strip it's like a Midwestern town on crack. If you like resort towns, which I do, Vegas is fun, fun , fun. But allow for about 5gs per week. Which is why I never stay longer than 5 days.

I've lived in Asia and I'd have to say Las Vegas is exactly like Bangkok. Except in English. And 1000 x more expensive.

Granted, great food (like Bangkok), beautiful people (like Bangkok), and the pungent odor of alcohol and cigarettes (like Bangkok.)
