Want to try to interpret this dream?
Sorry I'm being a nuisance this morning. But, I was curious if anybody can tell me what this dream might represent:

I was driving up a hill, high above a dam, which actually resembled Folsom Dam...

here is a pic (I used to drive up there when I was younger):

Anyway... my mother was in the car (she is deceased IRL, but not in the dream). I don't remember her saying anything in the dream but I was talking. Then, suddenly, I took a wrong turn and drove off into the air... the car accidentally plunging toward the water. Everything was in slow motion. And, just as my dreams often are, I was calm. There was no sense of panic. I turned to my mother and just said, "Uh oh" as the car floated toward the water...for what seemed like a very long time. Just as the car was about to hit the water, I found myself in an apartment complex with wrought iron railings and cats EVERYWHERE! I kept climbing stairwell after stairwell, but I couldn't get out of the apartment complex. The railings were rickety and I kept losing my grip. One of the odd things I remember about the dream is that I was alone then...and I seemed more frightened about not finding my way out of the apartment complex than plunging slowly into the water (from what would certainly be a height high enough to kill a person). It's strange... the way my mind just shifted from one scene to another... without any resolution to the plunging car. Very strange.

Ok. What does all this represent? Do I need to go adopt a couple of kittens? lol No.... I know my subconscious mind is trying to work out something much more serious.

1. I dig dreams
I would be banned for posting most of mine.

Like you said, your brain is trying to work something out. Feel fortunate you remember the details. Most people do not.

5. Something in your life is causing your a lot of stress?
And you have only been peripherally pondering solutions, but have not really acknowledged that you need to find some answers/solutions. I think the cats all over the place represent you needing to care for yourself first if you are ever going to find your way out of the (apartment) complex situation/dilemma in your life.

If anything...just :hug; for you!

6. Mid-life crisis setting in by chance?
Or do you feel in some other way trapped in your current life, wanting to perhaps start in a new profession, move to a new area, or just in some other way get out of the rut you're in?

8. I've been having some disturbing dreams lately
Since my grandmother died, I have been dreaming about my family (and her) a lot. In one, I was in her old house, which shs sold years ago, alone but I felt someone was watching me. It was creepy. Other dreams have starred my entire family, often fighting, which they do frequently in real life. I have had some disturbing sexual dreams too (NOT the good kind).

It's probably just stress.

11. Oh... sorry some of yours are disturbing.
 Of course, plunging hundreds of feet toward a lake is pretty disturbing too!

Hope things work themselves out for you soon.

12. Yeah... anxiety, Yes.
Too much TV? Naw. Maybe not enough mind-numbing TV!!

One of the things I find interesting, when I have these types of dreams/nightmares, is how calm I appear in them. It's strange. :hi:

15. i won't hold that against you
just joking,

i just couldn't hack it there.

and i spent many years there. don't get me wrong, there is much to like about the place, but for me it was entirely unrealistic.

i refuse (can't afford) to drive, so living there is completely impractical.

plus, i prefer the jeffersonian grid layout of most midwestern population centers. and public transit. god, i cannot live in a world without public transit.
