1. Was the Meryl Streep character evil?
Great subject for a movie. It sounds good and I am happy that Hollywood is making movies like this.

What did you think of it?

2. Yes; a Dick Cheney minus the ah.. um...

What I thought of it is that it should have come out three years ago.

It was reasonably realistic.

4. She's done several villain roles now
and she is good at them.

It takes a smart woman to play a villian.

9. As a woman, I appreciate the fact she's finding juicy roles at "her age".

11. That's very true...
She looks terrific. Also real, if you know what I mean.

15. Real terrific?
Meryl Streep has always been so genuine to me, even when she plays evil characters.

I don't know when I fell under her spell, but it was probably in Sophie's Choice.

It was great. I won't be checking back on this thread. We're planning to see Rendition next week.

8. I saw it last night. I was disappointed that the theater wasn't very full.
Was your theater empty-ish or full-ish?

10. Foolishly empty
less than 20 people for the 4PM showing.

It deserved a better audience.

I guess people don't want to be reminded of what we have done.

12. Is it worth paying theater prices for? There are several movies Mr. LIW and I want to see...
and we're trying to decide which ones to see in the theater and which ones to wait to see on DirecTV.

14. That's really a mater of taste

The subject is dark; it does not have a happy ending.

What it does have is a corse sense of justice, where the bad guys get some payback for their deeds.

An unbroken taboo of the American film industry is that crime must not pay.
