GD seems to be full of so many tunnel visioned people who would rather be wrong and otherwise argumentative 9am being nice by not using words am actually thinking).

The Lounge seems to be full of informed, compassionate, and intelligent people.

7. I posted this in a GD thread. Some people just don't like Californians.

Some people have contempt for all-that-is-California.
Having lived in CA for several years, and being a west-coaster all my life, I don't get it. People in Oregon and Washington sometimes make a joke about Californians, but it's good natured.

But then I lived briefly in a big midwestern city, and, at times, I picked up on a serious contempt for California. It was a palpable mixture of envy and mistrust, and accusations of being an immoral, decadent, place. I'm fairly sure most of those people had never even been to CA.

I replied that I have been a Democrat in other states as well, and it has nothing to with living in CA.

Anyway, the speaker went off on a tangent about how CA is staining the fabric of moral decency, with their self-indulgent ways.

Someone last week from The Lounge asked why people from GD never posted in Lounge. A few of the responses indicated that the Lounge folks are always dissing GD. Just yesterday when I roamed over here there was another thread about those people over in GD.

Calling out a member in another forum doesn't seem right to me.

We have become a virtual community. We are alone at our computers, clicking and nodding and use the Internet to "think loud" to vent, to just say the first thing that comes to our mind.

There have been several good responses there. The others, just ignore. Say what you have to say, stay awhile to respond to real posts and then just move on.

Trust me, I am talking from experience.
