I have gotten a call from these idiots every day for the last three months, telling me that the warranty on my car is about to expire and I need to give them a call immediately. My car is an '82 beater, the warranty expired several decades ago. Anyway, today I pushed the button to talk to a person to tell them to please take me off the list, I am tired of jumping up to get the phone and hearing that same damn recording all the time. The conversation went like this:
Woman: Hello can I get the name of your registration number (or something like that) please?
Me: I have no idea what you're talking about. Look you guys have called me about 50 times and I just wanted to ask you to...
Click.
Bitch hung up on me. Ooo I'm pissed. I used to try and be nice to these people but god damn, this is bordering on harassment. Get a real job you fucking leeches!

The McDonalds one or the Burger King one?
Sorry... telemarketing pays a little better than the bottom-rung positions... I've done it myself. Not proud of it, but there it is.

Sorry you're getting harrassed by those unscrupulous companies... those scams really are awful.
I didn't work for a scam, I just hawked home security systems... and badly, at that. :P

7. I can handle a call here and there |
|
No problem. If someone calls me and wants to sell something, I can deal with that. But when I get a recording every freakin' day for MONTHS and then they just hang up on you when you try and tell them to stop, then that just makes my blood boil.
We all gotta make a living, sales in and of itself is not a bad thing. But harassing people non-stop is just downright mean.

8. It's more than mean, it's illegal. |
|
The hanging up before you can ask them to take your number off the list is done on purpose, I'm sure.
But anyway what they're doing is illegal, so no matter how you slice it, that's fucked up.

9. Oh lordy do I hate telemarketers. |
|
I answer the phones where I work a lot and we get these leeches all the fucking time. The worst offenders are the damn autodialers. There's a special place reserved in hell for whoever invented the autodialer.

15. The only thing worse are bill collectors |
|
ESPECIALLY if they are calling your number searching for someone who does not live there and who has never lived at your address.
They always think I am lying when I tell them I have no idea who "Oscar" is, nor do I know where to find him.

I've had 2 or 3 of those in the last several days, a recording. And there is no warranty still in effect on my car. And I don't mind a real person calling from a local company trying to drum up some business. They asked for your VIN or license plate number? That doesn't sound so up and up.

17. It was something like that |
|
She said it so fast I couldn't really understand what she was saying. But yeah, I don't think this is totally on the up and up. I've decided that next time I get a call from them, I'm going to push the button again, and tell whoever answers it right away that if they hang up I'm calling the cops on them. Then I'm going to tell them to take me off the list, and if I ever get another call from them I will file a harassment complaint. Might scare 'em.
Be warned, if you are getting these calls there is no end to them. Like I said, I have been getting them non-stop for months.
