The day young Skynyrd died we’d show our Southern Pride |
|
If the South would a won we'd had a it made.
Does it get better than that for songwriting? On a sidenote, young Skynyrd was a good lad.

1. I don't get the whole regional pride thing |
|
How does being born in the south make you a better person than being born in New England? Or for that matter, how does being born in America make you any better than someone born in Iraq?
Having traveled all over the country I can tell you that you usually develop a better appreciation of home, but that doesn't mean you're better than anyone because of where you live. It just feels more comfortable.

3. I don 't think that modern day southerners are any more racist |
|
than people in other areas of the country. I live in Ohio and I've heard plenty of racism around here. The Klan is rumored to be active in a small town not far from where I live. I sometimes see the confederate flag proudly displayed in pickups and front yards around here, especially if you get out in the country a bit.
