10. It's mine as well, but all English translations miss the point of the entire story.
The metaphysical point about not being able to find anything to satisfy him.

And in the German, the big cat at the end that replaced the hungerkustler "lauft hin und her, hin und her" (paced back and forth, back and forth) enthralling the audience, in comparison to the utter lack of societal interest in the individual's plight.

When I left my last job I nearly sent a copy to my boss with the title crossed out and "XXX Financial Resources Centre Management Handbook" written in its place - but I fear they wouldn't quite get the reference.
