Buddy Blue, wrote this and is singing... he is also playing guitar, Buddy died a year and a half ago - we were friends - I miss him very mucho.
Buddy was from NY, he was a great big pain in the ass and he knew it. Buddy and the rest of the Beat Farmers were/are a local San Diego band that did some great tunes... Their CD/album Van Go was a big seller but as Buddy put it, poorly produced by a deaf asshole... The lyrics to this song were dear to Buddy and explain his politics and his hatred of the redneck assholes of the world... He was a devoted Democrat and we loved to bitch about the Freepers over a few cocktails... Buddy is missed by his wife and little girl and the rest of us who love music.

Peace to you Buddy Blue

1. What A Great Song.
Thanks for passing it on, I had never heard them. Sorry to hear he is no longer with us. They were quite talented.

4. Buddy
was a breath of fresh air. I don't know if the bio you read included how Buddy died. But in case you are wondering... Buddy was at home with his wife and daughter who was 5 at the time when he decided he was tired and went to take a nap. He collapsed in the bedroom and before anyone could help him he was dead. He apparently had a heart problem that had never been diagnosed... His heart basically exploded. All of the people in Buddy's life were terribly shocked at his sudden death. I had spoken with him just a week before. Buddy, like myself, did not buy into a god-belief.

As for the Farmers? They play on without Buddy. They have stuck together through the death of Country Dick Montana, who died while on stage and then through the demise of their most valued band member, Buddy.

You can download free music on the Buddy Blue website.
