Sony is discontinuing their online music service Connect along with their version of the MP3 which is Atrac3. I now have the thrill of converting over 8000 Atrac3 songs to MP3 especially since I now need to replace my current player (a victim to an accidentaly tea spillage)

Seriously. Sony and Dell are usually very bad for this.
Stick with something fairly universal (mp3, m4a, etc) so you don't have this problem.
