1. Why?
Edited on Fri Nov-02-07 02:06 PM by ThomCat
Imagine if you could keep recommending threads after that? There would be a couple of cult threads that would never, ever die. :P

We'd have kudzu threads that are not only getting thousands of posts, but they'd keep getting hundreds of recommendations too. Oh, imagine the horror!

(I'm being sarcastic, in case it's not obvious. I think being able to keep recommending threads would be harmless.)

3. recommending doesn't automatically kick them
the match game thread, for example, deserves at least one

13. But isn't it true that the ones with the most recs end up on the greatest?
So... those cult threads could sit on the home page for... who knows how long?

14. The threads that go to the Greatest Page...
ONLY stay for 24 hours...

Then they're gone!

16. Oh!
Well then... I don't see why not... goodness knows I've shown up late to the party too many times to count, and been unable to pile on with the recs.

Thanks! :hi:

15. I don't so much care about the no lounge threads in greatest
it was abused when it first came into play, and I can do without "The word of the day is douchenozzle. Replace any word in a thread with douchenozzle" on the top right corner.

17. Those threads always remind me of a kids in the hall skit...
the one where the guy won't stop using new fancy words that he likes.

2. the "can't recommend Lounge threads" is crappy crap.
I mean, yeah, you can recommend them, but no matter how many recs a thread gets, it won't make it to the greatest page.
I hate living in the DU ghetto.

5. I agree.
Admittedly, the threads we would put on the greatest page would make most people think :wtf:

But, they'd still be the lounge's greatest threads! They belong on the greatest page too.

11. My dear DS1...
I hate to be picky, but this is the sort of thing that you should be communicating with the Admins about...

Open criticism of this sort is usually locked...

Just sayin'...

And let me also say that I agree with you...

18. DS1's a rebel.
He's not going to discuss this with the Admins. He's going to call them out and taunt them, threatening to cross that bare sliver of a line that separates man from beast. That's what he does.

That's what he is.

Embrace him.

Questions about rules should be directed to one of the admins.

Blatant abuse of power. 10 yard penalty, loss of down.
