This is a note that she forwarded along with a picture of Barack Obama standing for the national anthem without his hand over his heart.

"I am forwarding this for one reason. This may not be a legitimate interpretation of the event, but what I state in the email is very evident. Everyone is trying to embrace this black man because he is black, beautiful and well spoken. But no one is remembering that he is a Muslim, but for convenience converted to Christianity. Abraham Sarker who came to the United States as a Muslim to convert Americans to Islam, and who found that the Bible held more truths for him than the Koran (wrote a book entitled Understanding My Muslim Brothers in which he told of the threats and beatings he took - in the United States because he embraced Christianity). He is a member of (her boss)'s church, and visited our office a few months ago. He specifically mentioned that Obama is a plant. That we are not to be fooled by this man's conversion. I wish someone would tell everything about a candidate, but it does not seem that you are to have crosses or Christmas Nativity Scenes in public places, but by dern, we need those Muslim foot baths so that we can show the Muslims how stupidly tolerant and vulnerable we are. I must say I find this offensive!! Please tell your mother that I am a pastor in Obama's church, and we take our faith as seriously as she does. He is NOT a "plant", nor was he ever an active Muslim. He is a Christian, a member of a denomination with a long history of working for justice and peace. You might mention to her that Obama's church is the church of the pilgrims, hardly some johnny-come-lately fundie bunch preaching a gospel of prosperity.

I didn't mean to unleash my mom's insanity and hurt anyone. You have to understand that my mom doesn't really have any firm beliefs - she says things that she knows will offend and upset others, so I'm sorry that she did that.
